Harms of Hate event February 2025
Year 5 and 6 school council members recently took part in the 'Harms of Hate' event in collaboration with Rotherham Community Trust. The children engaged in important workshops that addressed key issues such as radicalisation, knife crime and hate crime. Their involvement in these discussions helped raise awareness and fostered a greater understanding of these critical topics. The pupils were even recognised in North Ward -News From Your Neighbourhood; see if you can spot them! It was an invaluable experience for our students, empowering them to be proactive in promoting kindness, respect, and safety in their community.
Reindeer Run 2024!
The School Council is proud to have organised the Reindeer Run to raise funds and awareness for Rotherham Hospice. This festive event brought children, staff, and the local community together in support of a cause that provides essential care and support to those in need. Thanks to the enthusiastic participation and generous contributions, the Reindeer Run was a great success, and we are thrilled to have made a positive impact on the lives of those supported by Rotherham Hospice. We raised an amazing £3700.20!
Thank you for all your support.

HappinessB4Hate
The School Council have been committed to spreading the word about their campaign HappinessB4Hate.
They have been presenting lessons about the campaign to their classes and introduced the Wickersley Northfield Primary Hate Crime Charter. They also met with Councillor Ellis and our Neighbourhood Coordinator Nicola to inform them about all the impressive work they are putting towards HappinessB4Hate.
Councillor Ellis commented: "We make a great team. You (the school council) have done all the hard work on this brilliant project, and I am glad that we have been able to help you."
The school council appreciate all the support they are receiving and are eager to continue with their quest.
HappinessB4Hate
The School Council have been very busy creating their campaign 'HappinessB4Hate'
"We would like to promote our campaign for preventing Hate Crime so that people feel safe and comfortable while learning. This campaign will help all people understand how serious hate crime can be and giving everyone a tool on how to deal with hate crime situations. It’s not just children who need to learn this it is adults (including family) as well. We are going to make sure everyone feels safe and welcome to school. We want everyone to feel happy and make sure everyone feels equal. We want pupils to know if they experience hate crime they can tell a trusted adult." -School Council
Competition Winners- We held a competition to design our slogan for our campaign HappinessB4Hate.
Congratulations to the winners: Lola and Kate
